Shmee150 gets the World's first Ford GT LM QuickSilver system fitted

April 15, 2024

The GOAT of the YouTube Automotive world, Shmee150 aka Tim Burton came back to get our Version 2 Ford GT 'LM' system fitted. This system features our 3D Inconel tail pipes that replicate the Ford GT LM.

Shmee’s GT is World renowned and already has the LM style wheels fitted, so when he heard we've developed an LM-style system, he was quick to be the first to have one on his car.

Our system showcases several new and improved features, which make it stand out as a very special QuickSilver system.

1. Space Age Pro Inconel Heat Shielding

Firstly we replaced our Cerakote® heat-resistant coating with all over protective heat shrouding. The Inconel shrouding is a very labour-intensive process to weld in place, as it covers the entire exhaust apart from flanges, hangers and the gorgeous tail pipes (we’ll get to those in a next).

Unlike the painted coating, which is very good at containing heat within a small area and stopping it in its tracks, the shrouding contains and radiates the heat across a larger area, which therefore helps to keep the entire exhaust at a lower temperature for longer - we noticed on average a 40% reduction across the system overall.

2. 3D printed Inconel Venturi Tail Pipes

Secondly, a first for QuickSilver in our 50-year history, but definately not the last, as these custom 3D printed inserts not only replicate the Ford GT LM style but also offer some performance benefits and look utterly delicious.

The design creates a Venturi effect which in essence pulls, accelerates and spins the exhaust gases from the rear of the car faster.

This aides the process and can look fantastic on cold days when the visible hot gases can be seen to spin outward from the exhaust.

Shmee150 has had various systems from us in the past including for his old Audi R8 V10 and his most recent project, his Renault Clio V6
